Save A Tusk With A Tea Towel - Sophie Allport's Savannah Collection

Like many of you, the closest I’ve ever gotten to see some of the amazing creatures that walk our planet is at a handful of zoos over the years. Those memories of awe and wonderment have stayed with me, and as an adult, you realise just how lucky we are to have such beauty and diversity of wildlife in our world. It’s also heartbreaking to know that illegal wildlife trade continues to threaten these amazing animals. I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t feel the same, and so with this in mind and knowing that if you’re here reading this, you’re probably a home lover too, you’ll be thrilled to know you can do your bit to help. I’d thought I’d help spread the word with Sophie Allport’s latest collection that will add a feel-good factor to your homes in the knowledge that you’ll be helping save our wildlife from the threat of illegal trade. Ready to find out more?

Save A Tusk With A Tea Towel – Sophie Allport’s Savannah Collection

Sophie Allport and ZSL (Zoological Society of London) are asking all you house-proud animal-lovers to help stop the illegal wildlife trade and all from the comfort of your own home.
The international conservation charity and British designer have teamed up to bring a new homewares collection with a conscience to the high-street that’s been developed to raise funds to support ZSL’s conservation of animals.

About Zoological Society of London

Not that you’ll need encouraging, but I thought I’d include an extract here from Sophie Allport’s Charity page about ZSL’s work and how by purchasing just one tea towel can benefit this incredibly important cause.

Founded in 1826, ZSL (Zoological Society of London) is an international scientific, conservation and educational charity working around the world to protect animals and their habitats. Their mission is realised through their ground-breaking science, active conservation projects in more than 50 countries and their two Zoos, ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo.

The African savannah is home to some of the world’s most magnificent animals – including the fastest mammal on land, the cheetah and the planet’s largest land mammal, the African elephant. But these spectacular animals and their homes are under threat. ZSL is working to tackle the challenges faced by cheetahs and elephants and protect their populations in key locations across Africa. By purchasing the Sophie Allport Cheetah and Elephant collections our customers are contributing to ZSL’s vital work. 2% of sales made from the ‘Animals of the Savannah’ range will be donated to the Zoological Society of London (ZSL). Animals Of The Savannah

As a proud owner of some of Sophie Allport’s previous collections, I can wholeheartedly say that you really can’t beat the exceptional quality, attention to detail and the care that goes into her designs. The fact that you’ll also be helping an incredibly worthy cause elevates this latest collection and I’ve already begun my list to buy. Of course, having transformed the kitchen earlier this year with its botanical wall, the cheetahs and elephants are a calling to me as they’d look right at home and, of course, the knowledge that each purchase will help with ZSL’s quest to stop illegal wildlife trade makes them a must-have.

The collection named Animals of the Savannah, includes an amazing array of homewares from tea towels, mugs and candles, bowls, fabrics etc.. In fact, there’s so much to choose from you’ll not be left wanting.  The designs created by Sophie are a wonderful celebration of the wildlife ZSL has been working with for over 180 years.

The distinct camouflage coat of the cheetah stands out against a dark forest green background on this striking design. This contemporary collection includes a fabulous range of kitchenware, fine bone china and bags & accessories. There are plenty of wonderful gift ideas for animal lovers and safari enthusiasts.

Featuring new products inspired by animals of the Savannah, the collection includes cheetah and elephant prints in an array of homewares as well as key rings, bags and the all-important umbrella (which we are all now praying to be able to use after this intense heat wave – I never in all my years thought I’d make a statement like that but us Brits are so used to rain that after weeks without it we are now at a complete loss as to be able to cope without it especially with our lawns scorched and plants long withered.

The animal-themed range will highlight and raise funds for conservation projects across the world including targeting the illegal wildlife trade. Available now, you’ll also be pleased to know that the collection is sustainably sourced using quality materials.

“The illegal wildlife trade is something that is close to my heart and supporting ZSL and their conservation projects is something everyone can now do through the range. I grew up visiting family in East Africa and it continues to be an inspiration to me.” Sophie Allport

Elephant Doorstop – This fantastic doorstop will look great in any room of the house. Made from our Elephant fabric, it features a lone elephant along with a loving mother and her child, on a mustard yellow background.

There’s even something for the little ones with this adorable Elephant doorstop that would make a beautiful addition to their room. Although you might want to keep him for yourself.

Elephant Mug and Tea Towel

From as little as £8, you could adorn your home and help save our wildlife. I hope you agree with me that this collection is not only beautiful but a worthy one. You can find the whole collection featuring the Elephant and Cheetah ranges here.
Until next time, thanks for stopping by! And for all of you that live in the UK, I hope you receive some rain soon. If not for the sake of our gardens but so we don’t have to keep popping out to the local supermarket to cool down!
