If you happen to follow me and Facebook and/or Instagram, you would have seen that I attended a lampshade making event held at Heals in Kingston Upon Thames last night. It was hosted by the fantastic artist, and designer Anna Jacobs. As you can imagine, I was a tad bit excited to be able to combine my love of lighting and art, with hands on experience!
I first came across Anna on Instagram and you can follow her here to see her range of amazing designs.
Anna’s beautiful work is inspired by nature, namely birds and botanicals. You can’t help but love the vibrancy and detail of her designs.
All of her products are designed, and made here in the UK, which is great for our environment as it helps reduce the carbon footprint. Anna launched her homewares collection in 2015, and it looks like its going from strength to strength! So if you are looking to update your homes with some beautiful accessories such as cushions, lamps or lampshades, then check out here website here.
Right back to ‘the‘ event last night, and some photos of my lampshade making in progress.
Lampshade Making
First up, we all got to choose from one of Anna’s beautiful designs for our lampshade. It was interesting to know that each piece of art is carefully designed to size for the lampshade in question ie., small or large, and not cut from one large roll of fabric. The fabric, by way, was really good quality too.
Now I just need to get myself the lamp base to be able to show off my handiwork!!
Want to own one of Anna’s beautiful designs for yourself or maybe a piece of her amazing artwork? Check out her website here, you won’t be disappointed. Or maybe you feel inspired to make your own lampshade. It would be lovely to hear from any of you that have made one before.
Have a great weekend!!
Until next time……
Thanks for stopping by and taking time to read today’s post!!
