As with any independent creator, there is more to a design piece than meets the eye. There’s a story to be told and shared. And often the journey to their creativity is one that will ensure that their work is cherished for years to come rather than the fast must have latest trends that are but a passing phase. Ruth’s design journey is one such story that I hope you’ll enjoy as much as you’ll love discovering her raw organic graphic designs.
About Ruth Holly
Childhood memories can shape the way we grow into adults as well as how we perceive the world around us. They leave lasting markers that can provide us with inherent loves and interests that stay with us for life. It comes as no surprise that Ruth’s adoration for nature was instilled by her parent’s love of the outdoors. Memories such as watching her mum wander a beach with a camera, endlessly trying to capture the crest of a wave to being taught all the names of flowers and trees that they encountered on their woodland walks. Her father’s ability to craft and develop innovative ideas by hand also influenced her creativity. These meaningful memories captured Ruth as a child and have intertwined and shaped her world into a successful creative today.

There is no strict method to my work; it is quite an organic process and I can find inspiration anywhere!

It’s no surprise that the unfolding eclectic scenery of steep-sided valleys, moorland, canals, reservoirs, and gritty towns beholds inspiration for Ruth. In contrast, her clean white studio provides a balance to her organic raw designs. A place to create and clear the mind.
