Karina Mansfield – Minimalist Pop Art For Your Homes
Meet Karina Mansfield
Originally from Brazil, Karina lives with her photographer husband Paul and their three wonderful boys. For the past twelve years, they’ve made Sussex their home and having moved to West Sussex recently myself, I can completely understand why they love it so much.
A self-taught artist who has followed her dream, Karina only began selling her illustrations from May 2018. Since then, Karina has created several hundred bespoke portraits including people’s beloved pets.
Her unique artwork means she has not only been commissioned for work here in the UK but also worldwide. Don’t you just love a success story especially if someone has harboured a life long ambition to achieve a personal goal? Karina has certainly made hers a reality!
Selling my creative work has enabled me to switch from working in education (a total of 20 years if you combine my roles in Brasil and the UK) to becoming a full-time artist.Karina Mansfield
On a personal level, Karina has found solace and purpose through her artwork after having sadly lost her mother to cancer two years ago. A testament to how doing something we love can help in some way heal the mind and soul.
I personally love Karina’s unique artistic style. It brings a modern contemporary twist to portraits. And they are all created by using digital programs on her computer.
Karina’s fabulous digital artworks are vibrant, colourful and uplifting. Whether they’re of the beautiful landscapes that surround her in and around Sussex or bespoke illustrations based on photographs that clients have provided, Karina’s style is unique and distinct. Perfect for injecting personality, colour and pattern into your homes.
Her ability to create illustrative designs using software programs is a testament to her success. Using only hard edges, and utilising blocks of colour arranged pretty much like a jigsaw, Karina calls it “Geometric Karina style“.
Karina’s designs have been in demand worldwide and have included some mainstream brands such as Mastercard, as well as Bloom the magazine and the fabulous interiors writer, tv presenter Michelle Ogundehin. Check out her Instagram profile and you’ll see Karina’s creative portrait staring back at you.
My style of work could also be characterized by minimalism within Pop art. I combine simple illustrations with geometric patterns and have developed a unique style of illustration by using colours and elegant layouts.Karina Mansfield
