A little treat for your tables with a seasonal pumpkin floral table centre today. With our mainly staying home during these worrying times, it makes sense to brighten up our days don’t you think? I do love a quick and easy design you can create yourself and this one takes little to no time at all.
How To Make An Easy Pumpkin Floral Table Centre
To be honest, I’ve never really gotten into the whole Halloween decor thing with our home. It’s probably due to the fact that our eldest son was born on Halloween and we wanted it to always be about his experience rather than a commercial one. The most we ever achieved was pumpkin carving which I was sadly never that good at.
This year, with our mainly staying home, and currently being trapped to certain areas in our cottage whilst we have the original parquet flooring restored, I turned to creating a little seasonal table styling to lift the spirits. It certainly helps to have at least one area whilst renovating that you have some control over.

For your pumpkin centre piece you’ll need a medium to large pumpkin of your choice. I went for a white one which I managed to get quite easily from our local Morrisons. Of course, you can opt for the typical orange pumpkins widely available.
You can also paint your pumpkin to suit your decor. Great for using up left over paints or tester pots are another cheap option. I was happy to have mine as it was just because I prefer a more natural look and feel to my table setting.
Find a glass that will fit the depth of your pumpkin. This is to place your flowers in inside your pumpkin.
TIP: Empty jam jars are a great alternative to using a glass.
Your chosen glass needs to be able sit inside the pumpkin without too much peeking out of the top. So check the depth of both your pumpkin and glass. You then need to draw around your chosen glass with a marker.
It’s just a case of cutting around the circle you’ve drawn and digging out the innards to make way for your glass.
Once you’ve dug out the innards you can then place your glass inside.
Then cut your flowers to fit the height and width of your pumpkin. Keeping their lengths to scale with your pumpkin.
Then place your centre piece and style away to your hearts content. I styled mine for a autumnal table setting but you could easily style your pumpkin around your home say as fireplace decor, coffee table and so on.
I placed smaller white pumpkins along my table intertwined with faux, dried hydrangeas from my cottage garden and other flowers. The faux eucalyptus garland is from Shop With Sue Ryder which I used for last years Christmas fireplace garland.
Using a glass vessel inside your pumpkin will allow you to change up the water and refresh your flowers as and when you they need clean water.
The glass also allows the stems of the flowers to draw up clean water rather than using the pumpkin to pour water into. It’ll help the flowers live longer too!
