Longevity, sustainability as well as being hugely practical are incredibly appealing attributes when seeking out pieces for your homes. I’m thrilled to say that all of these apply to today’s design piece, the Mini Stool from Vincent Trading and it makes for a wonderful present for home lovers too!
Vincent Trading, a wonderful independent company based in Devon, has kindly sent me one of their mini stools. And it’s literally had me doing a happy dance since it arrived. The word mini may imply it’s small in size but this stool packs a punch when it comes to versatility and good looks.
Vincent Trading’s Versatile Mini Stool – Sustainable Design At Its Best!
There’s something to be said about handcrafted natural pieces for the home don’t you think? Wood in its natural organic raw state is one textural element that appeals to our senses creating a feeling of warmth and our need to connect with nature and the outdoors. It’s also timeless which adds to its appeal as wood ages beautifully and fits in with most decor and style choices.
More importantly, we are in need of protecting our precious resources to ensure a brighter future for our children. Vincent Trading only uses reclaimed wood for their designs. It’s companies like Mike and Emma’s that we need to see more of especially when it comes to purchasing for our homes.
About Vincent Trading
Vincent Trading was born from husband and wife team Mike and Emma’s passion for interiors and all things reclaimed. Mike’s traditional joinery skills combined with Emma’s eye for design has set them on the road to success. They’ve created a range of sustainable design pieces that you’ll want to cherish in your homes for the long-term rather than a passing trend to be thrown away.
Our goal with Vincent Trading is creating timeless pieces which will last generations, removing the need for fast fashion and saving more than a few trees along the way. (Mike & Emma – Vincent Trading)
Everything they design is designed with a purpose, beautiful items built to last a lifetime and beyond. I adore that they give new life to each piece of reclaimed wood providing designs that are useful and beautiful to look at too.
Each and every item is something we would, and do, have in our own home. Each design is tested to fit within our lifestyle, it’s put into action in our busy multi-generational household and only the ones who are beautiful and useful make it into the collection you see today. (Mike & Emma – Vincent Trading)
By sharing their journey they hope to connect with like-minded folk, bring a little happiness & thoughtfulness back to gifting and have a positive impact on our planet. You can read more about their story so far here.

It’s hard to believe but each mini stool started its life as a humble scaffold board. Each board is handcrafted using traditional techniques into mini stools before being finished with a hard wax oil to ensure that they withstand everyday life.
Good To Know: The stool is approximately 25.5cm in length, 22cm deep and 24cm high. And if you’re wanting something a little different, Vincent Trading offer a bespoke service upon request too.

Versatile Design Around The Home
Whilst the word stool implies a form of seating, which of course it would be ideal for your little ones, it’s size proportions make it an incredibly versatile design that allows you to use it in a number of ways. It’s been put to good use here the I.E. household and I thought I’d share with you how our mini stool has become part of our home.
The Handy Table
This stool may be small in size, but it is the perfect unobtrusive furniture piece that you can position with ease anywhere you decide to take five and enjoy that cuppa that you so well deserve.
It’s a sturdy little number too and you won’t have to worry about it toppling over as it’s incredibly well-made. Being naturally durable, you won’t mind the kids borrowing it for their tea parties or play dens either.
Bathroom
In the bathroom, the mini stool makes a welcome additional surface to allow you to have everything to hand for indulging in some you time. Just don’t tell the kids you’re in there!
DESIGN TIP: Much like metallics, don’t be afraid to mix different types or finishes of wood either. Our main bathroom is predominately dark mahogany wood but the natural lighter grain wood of this stool makes a beautiful contrast which adds to the overall aesthetic of our bathroom.
Decorative
Decorative in its own right, the mini stool makes a wonderful addition to display your treasured possessions around your home. I’m getting excited just thinking about how I’ll be able to use this stool with Christmas just around the corner.
Although you might be forgiven that its Christmas all year round at ours with fairy lights permanently adorning our fireplaces.
Elevate Your Plants
As a plant lover, this stool makes the perfect elevated plant stand. Ideal if, like myself, you run out of surfaces to add them to. The mini stool is also perfect for creating different levels of interest through height when it comes to a jungalow style set up. (i.e., trying to style up your plants when you really do have too many!)
It’s even been used as a handy step for those awkward hard to reach top cupboards. A sturdy good looking little number that won’t date or tire off.
Vincent Trading’s Most Popular Designs
Of course, I couldn’t not mention that Vincent Trading offers some other fabulous sustainable designs available from their online shop too.
Their current best sellers are, as you might have guessed, the Mini Stool, as well as the useful Serving Board, and Serving Tray.
And if you can’t decide what to buy as a gift for that important person in your life they have gift vouchers available too!
Final note….
On a final note, I would say that buying with a conscious whether it be for yourself or others ensures that we can all do our bit for the environment. I love the fact that Emma and Mike are passionate about producing pieces for our homes that do exactly that! Using the best quality reclaimed wood combined with skilled craftsmanship means they will also be cherished for years to come.
We simply adore our mini stool. And with so many uses, its already become part of our home and everyday life. It is quite simply a joy to look at.
Thanks as always for stopping by!

I love the stool by the sofa particularly, as I’m always putting mugs on the floor and then my dog comes and drinks out of it 🤦🏻♀️
It’s a handy place to put your cuppa on for sure Mary. Love that it’s easy to move around unlike your normal side table. ☺️
