You may, or may not have considered bamboo for your homes before now. It is, in fact, a wonderfully sustainable material that has many benefits, not only to our environment but in some cases, our health too!

Bamboo is a surprisingly versatile sustainable material that is being used to create some amazing products, from hardwearing sustainable flooring to traditional baskets. So without further ado, here are some of my favourites:-
Bamboo Pendant Light Shades
These light shades from Cox and Cox, are simplistic in their appearance and perfect if you favour the Scandi look. They are available in three different sizes and are easy to fit. The design of the shade ensures an array of patterned light when the lights are turned on, creating a wonderful ambience and atmosphere to any room.

Bamboo Chair by Idyll Home Ltd
The Bamboo chair by Idyll Home is perfect for those of you seeking a sustainable piece of furniture. Again, like the pendant light-shades above, this chair particularly lends itself to the scandi look due to its clean lines and simple design. The chair is durable, and water resistance, which allows you to use it outside on the patio (although, obviously not during winter months), or just enjoy it indoors.

Aalto Wall Rack
The Aalto Wall rack is pure perfection, that has a timeless and sustainable quality to it. I am seriously considering this wall rack for my own home, and not just because if its good looks. Durability is the name of the game, especially when you have kids chucking bags and coats about. Of course, it doesn’t have to be used in the hallway, it could quite easily work in a bedroom or dressing room too.

EMIKO, White Bamboo Bowl
This beautiful Emiko bamboo bowl by Habitat has been lacquered 9 times to give it its lustrous high gloss finish. I love the contrast between the warmth of the bowl’s bamboo innards and the external shiny finish. The bowl’s design ensures that you get the full beauty of the natural beauty of the bamboo. There are a number of different sizes and colours to choose from too.

Thibaut Bamboo Weave Wallpaper
I love, love, love this wall covering for its textural detail, and for the interest, it would add to a room. Bamboo weave wallpaper provides you with an eco-friendly alternative to more traditional wall coverings whilst offering a high standard of durability and quality. The downside for some of us, including myself, is its price at £120 a roll. Although, in the long run, it could be an investment as it does have a timeless quality to it. Therefore, it shouldn’t date, and combined with its durability and quality, should ensure that this wall-covering should endure the test of time, especially in busy households.

Bamboo Bedding by Between The Sheets
If you suffer from skin or breathing problems, then look no further than bamboo bedding. It boasts hypoallergenic qualities and has a unique cooling nature to it too. Bamboo may be a great to choice to help those of you suffering from allergies and find conventional bedding aggravates your condition. It is also extremely durable, and soft and silky to the touch.
There are, of course, many other bamboo products out there for your home, and I am sure we will be seeing more of them in the future. Bamboo is certainly one material to look out for and consider for your homes whilst helping our environment.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Until next time….
Have a great weekend!
